The Carleton Conservatives were graciously invited to the federal parliament for question period by Poilievre's office. Question Period offered an interesting bird's eye view of the parliamentary process that forms the Canadian government. Members toured the building that catalyzes the Canadian project. Many hope to return once again in the near future.
MP's Garnett Genuis and Kevin Lamaroux battled it out in front of the young population that inhabits Carleton. Before hand Genuis asked students whether they were better off now or in the past opening up conversation on Canada's situation. The event was co-hosted between Carleton's Debate Club, Liberal Club, and Conservative Club. The debate spanned a vast range of pertinent topics that are relevant today such as immigration, economy, and parliamentary discourse. Both MP's answered insightful and important questions asked by some of the student's themselves. Below you can click the button to take you a video recording at Garnett Genuis' YouTube.
The Conservative Clubs of UOttawa and Carleton collaborate enriching the ties between both similarly minded clubs. With a large attendance of both eager students and MP's brought this event to be an insightful and productive experience. MP's such as Johnathan Rowe, Brad Vis, and Ryan Telford as well as other MP's were in attendance talking to students about the current issues that face Canada and their solutions. It was follow up of the clubs visit to question period. Future pub night's inviting some of the most famed MP's are soon to come again, follow our social and join as member to keep updated.
Our first kick starting event was an exciting pubnight with MPP George Darouze. This event brought together Conservative minded students for the first time in a while. Babara Ball also made an appareance who fought hard in now Mark Carney's riding of Nepean. This brought together similarly minded students together forming the beginnings of a strong club community.
