The Carleton Conservative Club has had a strong presence in past years. However, for the past 2 years Carleton hasn't seen as active of a Conservative voice. This year we want to change that.
Here are the committed Conservatives that lead the club today. Learn their background which brought themselves to this club!
Hi Everyone! My name is Daisy, and I’m a third-year Cognitive Science student here at Carleton, with a minor in Political Science. Originally from High River, Alberta, I have volunteered with the Conservative Party of Canada in eight ridings across the country, and am currently working as a Legislative Assistant on Parliament Hill. I am passionate about advancing conservative principles and values on campus, and look forward to growing our Conservative presence on campus through organizing networking and professional development events and connecting with like-minded students.
Hello! My name is Colin MacKay, and I am currently studying Business Law at Carleton University, having previously studied Finance before transferring to Carleton. I am originally from the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, and now call Ottawa home. I have experience working in municipal government as part of an economic development team and most recently served as a Policy and Government Relations Intern with an association representing Ontario's transportation infrastructure sector. In addition to my professional experience, I currently volunteer on Parliament Hill and sit on the board of the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes Conservative EDA. As Director of External Affairs, I am excited to collaborate with other campus clubs and party members to support the Conservative movement. I look forward to promoting Conservative values on Carleton's campus and connecting with other like-minded students.
Hi there! My name is Evan Dunnigan and I am a third-year student in Public Affairs and Policy Management at Carleton University. For the past year and a half, I have been working on Parliament Hill for Conservative MPs, gaining firsthand experience in federal politics. I have also volunteered for ten different Conservative candidates across Canada. I look forward to promoting conservative ideas on campus and to help strengthen the Conservative student community at Carleton by supporting events, outreach, and opportunities for students interested in public policy and political engagement.
I am a proud Canadian and I strongly believe that young Canadians need opportunities and support to compete and make this country great again. I am currently a 1st year Aerospace engineering student and come from Peterborough Ontario. I've completed a variety of achievements such as the IB diploma, Glider, and Pilot licenses through the Air Cadet program which has kept me busy. However, in my off times I've supported the Conservative party in many ways such as door to door campaigns in the Kawartha-Peterborough riding and intend to continue this commitment through this club. Fostering a strong Conservative presence on campus is a essential first step to advocacy of change. I am excited to work with and encourage similar minded students to be confident in their beliefs which will be personified in the club's future recruitment efforts.
I'm Evan, a first-year Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management student at Carleton University. Growing up in Ottawa gave me the chance to get involved in politics early, including working as a Constituency Assistant to former MPP Goldie Ghamari and now as a Parliamentary Assistant to MP Arpan Khanna on Parliament Hill. Through volunteering on seven political campaigns at both the provincial and federal levels, I've learned the value of strong grassroots engagement. I'm excited to bring that experience to new member recruitment and to help build a strong, welcoming Campus Club alongside likeminded students. I really believe we get more done when we work together, and I'm looking forward to connecting with members in my role as First Year Representative.
Hey! My name is Matt, I'm in my 4th year of political science honours and as Director of Event Planning I look forward to organizing events and collaborating with conservative politicians to give you all an opportunity to network with professionals and a career in Canadian politics
I'm a first-year Commerce student at Carleton, and I'm excited to serve as Director of Finance with the Carleton Campus Conservatives this year! With experience in leadership roles and politics & policy-related initiatives, I'm looking forward to working with the team to put on engaging events and strengthen our conservative community on campus.
